Tutor: Nanda Altavilla became obsessed with small shiny objects when she accompanied her Mum to work in a bridal shop. She learned to crochet at nine, taught by a friend of the family. However it was not until much later that she discovered that crocheting with wire and beads can make unique and beautiful jewellery. Nanda is a local resident, a scientist and Mum.

Tutor: Christine Smalley Founder & Creative Director, shares her passion & knowledge of jewellery design in regular workshops.
Her passion for the modern deco 1920s style, 1970s boho chic, artisan traditions & vintage design governs her artistic expression.
Christine established Etelage in 2002. Two instructional beading DVDs later & a business nomination for business innovation (Telstra Awards 2009) Christine continues to persue excellence in her passion for all things adorned. Christine is also a regular blogger, teacher (incl TAFE, Notebook Magazine's Craftroom and schools) and loves all things vintage. Christine teaches introductory to advanced creative jewellery making, including the design principles of colour, texture & composition to create innovative work from Etelage’s impressive unique bead range!

Learn how to create a frame, then wire wrap crystals around it to create great 1960s inspired earrings.
TIP: use 18gu to create a frame and 24gu for wrapping beads around it.
